Contribution to Holy Trinity Primary, Barbuda

The Methodist Church, Antigua Circuit through the generous contributions of its members on island and abroad presented books and school supplies to the tune over EC $30,000.00 to the Holy Trinity Primary School in Barbuda. The donation came as assistance of Barbudans in light of the devastation of Hurricane Irma.

The books and supplies were made possible through the kind generosity of Mr. Fred Stanbach of North Carolina, USA, through his Foundation. A Methodist in the United Methodist Church in the USA who through Mr. Sam Aymer, of the Ebenezer Methodist Church, Antigua, made some US $10,000.00 available.

Also, Mr. Buckley from Antigua, who through the 1st United Methodist Church of Oviedo, Florida, also donated just over US $4,000.00 towards relief in Barbuda. All the contributions were channelled through the Methodist Church, Antigua Circuit.

“We felt it would be meaningful to touch the children in the area of Education. The Methodist Church has a very strong history in its contribution to Education dating back to the days of slavery. Thus, making it easy for us to determine that our contribution would be in the area of Education,” said Derek Brown, Superintendent Minister of the Methodist Church, Antigua Circuit.

Rev. Derek Browne made the presentation on behalf of the Methodist church. The kind donations were accepted, on behalf of the students and people of Barbuda, by Hon. Trevor Walker, parliamentary representative, and Ms Charmaine Harris, Principal of the Holy Trinity Primary School.
